Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible
Day is a private project by an individual and part of the aiity family. Send privacy questions to getaiityapp+day@gmail.com; full provider details are in the legal notice on aiity.de.
2. No accounts, no trackers
There's no sign-up and no login. The app sends nothing to us on its own: no usage statistics, no telemetry, no automatic crash reports. No analytics or advertising SDKs are included, and no data is sold or shared. The app's privacy manifest accordingly declares no tracking and no collected data types.
3. Calendars
To show and edit your events, iOS asks for full access to your calendars. Day reads and writes events only through the calendars on your device (for example iCloud, Google or Exchange). Changes go straight to that calendar and are synced by its provider, whose privacy terms apply. Day doesn't copy events to a server of its own. Widgets, Live Activities and the Apple Watch app read the same calendars on each device. You can revoke access in iOS Settings at any time.
Some apps keep invisible identifiers in event notes. Day hides them and leaves them unchanged when you edit an event.
4. Settings and iCloud
Your settings are stored on your device. When “Sync Settings with iCloud” is on (the default), Day stores selected settings, such as reminder times or your chosen maps app, in your Apple ID's iCloud key-value storage so they match on your other devices. Which calendars are shown stays per device. We have no access to this storage; Apple's privacy terms apply. Turn it off in Settings → General.
5. Notifications
Event and leave-by reminders are scheduled by your device as local notifications. There's no push service and we hold no device tokens.
6. Location, places and travel times (optional)
If you use leave-by reminders, Day asks for your location while you use the app. Day then sends your approximate location and the event's place to Apple Maps to calculate the travel time. When you type a place, suggestions come from Apple Maps search; if you allowed location, Day uses it to show places near you. Apple handles these requests under its own terms; nothing reaches us. Day remembers found coordinates locally on your device.
7. Dictation (optional)
When you tap the microphone while adding an event, iOS asks for microphone and speech recognition access. Recognition is done by Apple's speech recognition, on the device where supported, otherwise on Apple's servers under Apple's terms. Day doesn't store recordings.
8. Apple Intelligence (optional)
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Day can recognise more details in what you type. This uses Apple's on-device language model.
9. Links, maps and sharing
Day opens meeting links, directions and websites in the apps you chose under Default Apps; their terms apply there. When you share an event, Day creates a calendar file that goes only where you send it.
10. Contacting us by email
If you write to us, we see your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, and delete them on request.
11. This website
This site is static, sets no cookies and loads no external fonts, scripts or analytics. When you visit, the server processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, time, requested file, user agent) to deliver and secure the site; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
12. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77). In practice, we store no personal data from the app. Your events are in your calendars and your settings on your device and in your iCloud; you control both.
13. Changes
If the way the app works changes, this policy will be updated. The version published here, with the date above, applies.
